Good news. There is no reason with all the water waste that we have to destroy this resource.

Photo reminds me.............how did these people survive into the 21st century without someone else drilling water wells for them. Do they have no tools to dig their own wells ?

The drought is pretty much done for now. As predicted by Joe Bastardi back in September, we’re in “mini El Nino” year, which means lots of rain. I think we’ve had some amount of rain almost every day for the last month here in Sacramento.

Amazing that a state that’s adjacent to the world’s largest ocean cannot meet its water needs.

Amen. Desalination is the answer. Instead we are building high speed trains that no one will ride.

The ones I’ve seen don’t take showers or use toilets so the water savings would be nil.

And how long has CA been experiencing a drought?

On 6/21/2011 there was no part of CA in drought. So about 3.5 years.

These delta smelt are the endangered fish that resulted in the court order to reduce the pumping of water from the delta.

These are just some of the people who have another perspective on the situation.

How much would the effects of the drought been lessened if CA did not stop the pumping of water from the delta?
