There are plenty of persons who have read and understood the Koran in its original Arabic, there is no mistake in the translation when it is read in English. Mohammed was a sun-crazed old sand hermit, probably afflicted with what would be called “schizophrenia”, or there may have been a complication known as “bipolar”, swinging from melancholia to extreme exuberance. What is certain, though, is that there was no middle ground between what Mohammed believed to the One True Path, and any disagreement voiced by anyone.

It is impossible to negotiate and come to some sort of compromise. The only path permitted, by the words of the Koran, is subjugation and surrender, either as a fully converted and committed Muslim, as a member of the Dhimmi, essentially a slave to the will of the Muslim, or as an unworthy one who must be put to death.

And one must say, Muslims are in vastly greater danger from other Muslims, than from any other religion or ethnic group in the entire world. Much as some within Islam would like to reform their religion, and bring it into the 21st Century, those who have the 7th Century mindset will surely hunt them down and eliminate any such apostasy. Most of the rest are so intimidated by the prospect they never let out a peep, in hopes they shall never be noticed by the bearded men with the burning eyes.
