I like Joni. She’s the only candidate I gave money to this past cycle. (I live in Iowa now).
Having her replace Tom Harkin is incredible, even if she somewhat disappoints. However, she isn’t ready to be a VP candidate. She needs to fix that awful laugh and learn to be more glib. She has potential.

American voters are notorious for forming opinions on 30 second TV snippets than in depth and substantive discussion of issues. It is the way it is. Which is why I prefer candidates who are good on the feet in responding to gotcha questions.

Will they make any attempt to improve the optics? There should be an audience present to cheer the points made (and this would provide a chance to sip water if needed without it being awkward). Alas, year after year, this is not done.
Very poor optics every time...get an audience in there for them to speak to and that can applaud the points made.
I don’t recall a rebuttal having an audience. Given GOP leadership, the optics will probably controlled by Democrat staffers.
We’ll soon see if Joni delivers HER speech, or the kind of pabulum prepared for the Jindals and McMorris Rodgers. I am sick of pap, and I’ll be shocked if anything resembling the real Joni Ernst appears on television tomorrow.
I remember the crap speech that Sarah Palin delivered in Scranton years ago after the McCain creeps forced her into line!
