Expert says western yellow-billed cuckoo may be more prevalent than first thought. Paonia ornithologist Jason Beason likes to say that there are a lot of cuckoos out there.
The line is good for laughs at presentations like the talks he gave in the Roaring Fork Valley last week, and it accurately reflects the fact that dozens of species of cuckoos populate the Earth in both the Old and New Worlds. These include birds people might not immediately think of as being cuckoos, such as the greater roadrunner in the southwestern United States.
But in the case of the cuckoo of most interest to Beason — the western yellow-billed cuckoo — its numbers are few in the western United States. In fact, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service last fall listed the bird as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. It also has proposed critical habitat for the bird in several states, with Colorado critical habitat proposed along rivers in Mesa County and other locations in western and southern Colorado.

the birds are secretive by nature. They are far more often heard than seen and don’t even readily respond when birders play back recordings of their calls.
“They don’t announce their presence very much,” he said.
He added, “I think there’s probably more in western Colorado than we know about. … It would be great to do more surveys, get more people out in the field looking for them throughout the western U.S.”
Unfortunately, he said, it’s tough to find funding through the Fish and Wildlife Service for such studies for listed species.

IMHO, and supported by IQ tests from the first one to the present, black politicians are represerntative of their constituents - those constituents are possessors of an average IQ of 86.

Two of the redoubts of Libtardism in Florida are:
1. Black districts.
2. Jewish districts.
As Jewish district voters have some of the highest IQ scores, while black districts have the lowest IQ scores, clearly either IQ is meaningless regarding voter behavior OR neither uses their IQ.
Conclusion:
1. Based upon Florida black politicians, Blacks elect the stupid.
2. Based upon Florida Jewish politicians, Jews elect drooling, whirling-eyed socialists(Debbie Washerwoman_Schultz).
Arguably, both ends of the IQ spectrum are working together to turn Florida into FloriDUH.

There are no majority-Jewish CDs. The most heavily Jewish Congressional Districts are something like less than 40% Jewish. Only 20 or so CDs have as many as 10% Jews.
By contrast, there are at least 25 majority-black CDs, with dozens more at 25% or more.
As of data from January of 2014, the top three Congressional Districts with the most Jews are:
New York 10th, 37.62%
Florida 21st, 24.27%
New York 3rd, 22.01%
I used to work in Florida’s 15th, which is now mostly covered by the 21st. I was told that, of likely voters, over 80% were Jewish. They might not hold the majority, but they turn out in HUGE numbers.

That's a common ruse used by the environazis at USFWS. Wanna make a species endangered? No problem, just declare a new species somewhere where there are not a lot of a common species. They did it here with Prebble's Meadow Jumping Mouse. In actuality it's nothing more than a common field mouse. But you can make 'em jump if you scare 'em real good.
I saw an article a few years ago that identified a couple of USFWS "scientists" who can be reliably counted on always to "find" a new species if they're asked.
