I was quoting Moses.
Jesus Christ came and brought in the New Testament.
A Mississippi politician said that the Bible provided a good role model on how to treat people. He didn't limit his statement or his proposed law to the New Testament. The lines I quoted from the Bible evidently provide the same sort of model for behavior as ISIS does. So it appears that this politician has not really read the complete Bible, which he should have done before he proposed that it become the official state book and before he made the blanket statement that it was a good role model for how to treat people.
BTW it is not even clear that a book can be a role model. Wikipedia says that a role model is a person. The Good Samaritan is a role model of someone who follows the Golden Rule.
Moses represents Old Testament Law.
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17)
The best thing you can do is say a simple prayer to God, asking Him whether the Bible is actually a good role model or not. If you honestly want to know the truth, let Him give you the answer instead of us arguing about it.
