1—Guns are not banned in the UK.
But handguns are and they are the only real weapon a citizen can use for self-defense within the home and out in public.
2—Muslims make up 4% of the UK population.
Maybe so today, but they are busy on two fronts: 1. more immigration and 2. procreation. They will ultimately take you over.
3—UK murders and violent crime have not hit (for the public and police and politicians) such levels that we feel we need all police to be armed. The UK has 62m people, and 700-800 murders a year.
So I take it when you say “we” you are speaking for your entire country and it’s attitudes? I am personally acquainted with several Scots who would take issue that you speak for them.
Again I feel sorry for the UK, because from my perspective, it’s a shadow of it’s former self. It isn’t made up of the kind of people who fought the Germans in WWII any longer. But then it’s a lot the same here in the US today too and it will not end well for either country if our trajectories don’t change markedly and soon.
1—I found my shotgun worked well with my burglar in 2008.
2— They wont. They really wont.
3—I am going on public polls and police officer polls. The UK public dosent want an all-armed force. Every poll I have read makes that clear.
