I understand why she’s holding that sign but that doesn’t change that good Christians don’t say those things. It isn’t okay. However I sure agree with the passion and the anger behind it.
It’s such a commonplace today it would be easy to take it as just another vulgarity.
But it could be taken as an ironic metaphorical taunt “go right ahead and pleasure yourself obscenely.” A very light treatment is the key. Paul didn’t fill the whole bible with gutter level retorts either. But as the Proverbs say, sometimes the time is right to answer a fool on his level, to call him out.
Generally I’d agree. However we are beyond past definitions of what constitutes a good christian. We are in a war. In a way, people do and are ‘forgiven’ things that don’t work in polite society. I would bet that far harsher language was used by the Crusaders.
Eventually FU will be the least of our concerns. Though I’m sure some would be just fine with facing god and saying “Well of course I didn’t use harsh language! I preferred to sit quietly and let Liberals act freely as the Devil’s agents!”
If people can’t even say a word, and attack it’s speaker more than the liberals it was directed at, lets all go home now. There is no point in any of this.
I don't think she is holding the sign, looks to me like the guy behind her is.
Says who and why not?
