The latest CBO report has not garnered a lot of attention, even though it contains the modestly good news that Obamacare is not costing as much as the CBO thought it would in 2010. That said, another reason the left and the administration may not be touting this news is that the report also says that after a decade of Obamacare, there will still be 31 million people without health insurance - a number that has gone up every year the CBO has issued a report.

If the CBO says that $10 million people will lose their healthcare under Obamacare, its probably two or three times that, if we are lucky.

And in the long run, it will probably be a lot more.

And the Supremes still must decide if those paragraphs in ACA were a typo or if they really meant that you only get a subsidy if you signed up through a state exchange.

Another “unintended” consequence.

Right now, there are MORE “uninsured” persons in the territory once known as “the United States of America” than there were on January 20, 2009.

Those who had no insurance then, were either healthy and did not need it, or they were the kind that mostly would have been caught by various “safety nets”. Sure, a few would have slipped through, and once their plight was known, something was ALWAYS done on their behalf.

Now, the insurance programs available are so circumscribed by regulations, that they have become prohibitively expensive in many instances, or there are such high co-pays that the individuals and their families are essentially uninsured until their expenses have become catastrophic in scope. To say nothing of the severe curtailment of services delivered, or the dreadful reductions in compensation given to the providers of the health services.

The simple rule is, Lead, follow, or get the H*ll out of the way. The Current Regime does not understand the concept of leadership, they are too obstinate to follow ANYTHING or ANYBODY, and they sure haven’t made any move to get the H*ll out of the way.

Well ...

Totally unexpected, of course.

The “SOMA” will be to put everyone on Medicaid as is currently happening now.

Most likely because several key parts of the program were (illegally) delayed by Obama, not because the CBO was too dour in their predictions.

Remember the government rule of 10’s...

Any government estimate will cost 10 times as much as originally projected, or do 10 times as much damage.

Corollary: The revised estimate, when this is found to be true, will also be government by the above rule.

Right on schedule for the left who wanted this to happen as a stepping stone to a mandatory national health service.

The contradictions and onerous penalties and costs associated with Obamacare were not accidental. They were planned by the left to cause the erosion and disappearance of private health insurance.

All part of the plan. Business wants out from under health insurance costs. Health Insurance companies want to keep making money. Both are large campaign donors. So the conundrum becomes how to give both what they want. Pass a law that says if your employer dumps your health insurance, you HAVE to buy it yourself. Done. It’s a tidy system.

It’s good for nothing. Has anyone brought up the fact that it will cost the Gum’mint %50,000 per recipient annually?
