McCord is a 'rat, although of course you have to read further down in the story to find that out - trying to figure out why this is a big deal - working their way into political positions and power and then using that position to try to destroy their opposition and extort more power for themselves is SOP for 'rats - just ask the Tea Partiers who were attacked by the IRS......

Who was the last Dem politician who resigned so abruptly? I can’t remember. McCord was utterly shameless in his campaign for governor, and if the allegations are correct, he was even more sleazy behind the scenes. That behavior doesn’t just stop in a day, someone had a “talk” with him. Kathleen Kane’s career is hanging by a thread, but she is being propped up by very well connected political elements and she can’t afford to be lumped in with McCord’s malfeasences.

The frightening thing is that were it not for Wolf, he would be governor today.
