President Barack Obama says the U.S. must resist the urge to “overreach” when it comes to involvement in global crises.

In a new document outlining his national security priorities, the president says the U.S. will always defend its interests and uphold commitments to partners and allies. But he also says the country cannot make decisions out of fear and should not rely solely on military power. …

A 29 page straw man fallacy, and these morons who cover him will think it profound.

“resources and influence are not infinite.” Wow, he’s soooo smart! Gosh, everyone else was walking around thinking those things were infinite, until Barry came along and set them straight.

“But we have to make hard choices among many competing priorities,” he said, “and we must always resist the over-reach that comes when we make decisions based upon fear.”

Again, this is profound stuff! I always thought the choices were really easy, and that over-reach should never be resisted. All decisions were previously based upon fear (he doesn’t give any examples), but now we’re going to base them on ........ he doesn’t really say, does he? Nuanced!

“The United States will always defend our interests and uphold our commitments to allies and partners,”

Promise? Because the fact that he feels the need to say this part indicates a degree of doubt.

Obama: US must resist urge to “overreach” abroad

Real headline should read:

Obama: US must resist urge to hold me accountable for my failed foreign policy

That would be you and me!

As far as Obama is concerned anything other that surrender is overreach.

Overreach?, not a problem. We have Monty Pythons Black Knight for a President. “Just a flesh wound”

Then, drop the war powers request. It’s hard to think of anyone I’d trust less with War Powers in the MidEast (or anywhere else) than Obama.

Also, if you want to cut down on the over-reach, stay out of the Ukraine, and stop teasing Puty.

Fine, let’s concentrate on removing internal national threats at home, starting with the muslims and communists.

Yeah.

"Overreach abroad" is distracting him from overreaching at home. It has to stop.

Of course he wants strategic patience. Right now, Al Baghdadi is injured and cannot continue being caliph.
