Walker is skating on some pretty thin ice here. First, he “punts” on a Creation question, and now he won’t be straight up and give an honest remark about Rudy’s Obama comments.
We need a candidate who will courageously and unapologetically stand up for conservative principles. At the very least, we need a candidate who is not afraid to “tell it like it is”. Walker is not that candidate.
If he goes all conservative, the GOP will drop him. The only reason he’s still around is the GOP has to make it look legit. Jeb WILL be the nominee.
“Punting” on gotcha questions is like refusing to put on the funny hat in front of the photographers.
Just refusing to give them ammunition.
Serious Presidential candidates remain serene above the fray while surrogates do the wet work.
I'm going to respectfully disagree with you here, at least in regard to the two topics you mentioned. There is absolutely no reason for Walker or any other candidate to allow themselves to get pulled into these traps by the media. What Walker thinks about evolution (does he believe in creationism, Darwinism, Intelligent Design) or his opinion on what Giuliani said about Obama has absolutely no bearing on what kind of president he would be, and to engage in those conversations is just to allow the press to find something to beat him up with.
Walker is not my first choice, and I would need to find out a lot more about his positions on issues that would actually be affected by him being president before supporting him. But there are definitely things to like about him, and his wisdom in dealing with the press is one of them.
Judging by your posting history, you really do hate Walker. The tone of some of you comments seems, to me, more in line with the “got-cha” crowd of pseudo-journalists than the Ted Cruz fan you hint that you are. “All Walker, all the time.”
Curious.
You didn’t say who you DO support.
Therefore, your comment goes into the garbage can.
TED CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT.
We need a candidate who will courageously and unapologetically stand up for conservative principles. At the very least, we need a candidate who is not afraid to tell it like it is. Walker is not that candidate.
I passionately dissagree. This is small ball stuff. This isn't policy position. This jabbering and fishing for quotes to take out of context. Remember when Romney was asked about birth control. WAR ON WOMEN!!!! I am more and more convinced that Walker is sharp and really has his eye on the ball. He played this perfectly. He didn't need to add a thing and Guliani's truth got out there no better or worse had Walker stepped in. Had Walker commented, the story would not have been about what Guliani said. Today it is and it's rich and delicious.
Walker is bullet smart and unafraid. He is confident, articulate and conservative. You should learn more about him. He and Cruz are at the top of my list right now.
Whate ever happened to being able to say you believe in Creation, Big Bang and evolution as all part of the same plan?
“First, he punts on a Creation question, and now he wont be straight up and give an honest remark about Rudys Obama comments.”
Why would Walker need to comment on Ghouliani’s comment?
Rooty don’t work for him, and wasn’t speaking for him.
Rooty isn’t running for POTUS or governor of WI, and Walker isn’t running for Mare of NYC.
I can’t think of a single reason why Walker should have an opinion on what Rooty says.
It appears that on this point, you and Dana Milbank are in agreement.
Would you like to reconsider?
Obviously you demand black and white answers from politicians. Is too much to expect the same candor of you? My question, beyond legal issues of separation of church and state, how a president's beliefs creation or evolution will dictate his sactions as president. Don't give wishy washy answers based solely on beliefs - specific answers on the type issues this would make a difference.
there is no creation question. there is but a trivials creationist trap
Todd Akin did just that, and lost a race that was winnable. This is politics, not evangelism.
Say, Menthops what do you think of the pusillanimous Jeb Bush?
