Most of the staffers in DC are in house lobbyists from various industries and issue groups. John McCain's former chief of staff went from his office to VP of Boeing and is now chief of staff for GOP staffers on the armed services committee.
Look at Mr Principled Bart Stupak. His final vote for Obamacare was paid off with a full partnership at the premier DC lobbying firm of Venable LLP.
