"..........On Vox last week, Jenée Desmond-Harris blamed many of Americas ills on unconscious racism, which, she suggests, is also known as implicit bias. There is a regnant idea in America, Desmond-Harris contends, that is so deeply entrenched that many of us arent aware that we hold it that white is better than black. This point was echoed by Nicholas Kristof in Saturdays New York Times. Directly addressing white men, Kristof submitted that because all human beings are prone to the buffeting of unconscious influences, bias remains widespread in ways that systematically benefit both whites and men. In both cases, the argument is clear: that ones own preconceptions determine what is normal and what is abnormal, and that it is important for everybody to audit themselves in order to recognize their inclinations.
This being so, one can only wonder why such rules are not applied to the press corps, the members of which are disproportionately of, by, and for the Left. All too often, the medias starting point is that Democrats are normal, and that Republicans are not, and that conservatives therefore need to be subjected to obtuse questions that progressives, being sound, can be spared. From the reaction to Walkers words, we might conclude rather confidently that our leading lights are simply incapable of discerning that there is something rotten about the presumption that Walkers silence and indifference are disqualifying but that Hillarys apparently well-documented refusal to answer even the most basic of questions is politically smart. We might understand why Scott Walkers being ambushed in hotel lobbies and invited to opine on the state of the presidents soul is deemed to be a vital part of the usual cut and thrust, but that anything that casts President Obama in a bad light is regarded as worthy of condemnation. And we might comprehend why two middle-of-the-road and often excellent reporters sincerely believed that the question was a good one to offer up in the first instance.
Slate: Scott Walkers First Big Chance "Scott Walker is taking a stand against campaign gotcha questions. All praise to him! Its a noble goal, and a posture thats very hard to sustain.
When two Washington Post reporters asked the Wisconsin governor if he thought President Obama was a Christian, he refused to answer on account of it not having anything to do with anything. To me, this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and, increasingly, they dislike the press, he replied. (Nice of him to say increasingly dislike the press, as if that condition were still in transition as opposed to frozen in amber). The things they care about dont even remotely come close to what youre asking about.....
It's an hour but by watching it ALL you will have a good idea how Walker is going to campaign and interact with the media and critics.
Wisconsin Gubernatorial Final Recall Debate - 5/31/2012
The results Map:
Wisconsin governor recall election Scott Walker vs. Tom Barrett"
As I told Freeper who sent me a comment last night that she'd watched this debate too:
"Glad you watched the debate - it WAS interesting.
Id start levitating at the toad Barret [her apt discriptor], but Walker would sit calmly and then very unemotionally run Barret through. Over and over and over again. I finally relaxed and enjoyed the show."
.....Voters, not the media, ultimately will assess Walkers fitness for office. In the meantime, the media would be advised to start demanding candor from Clinton and then judge her by the same standard they apply to Walker."
It is like a lily and a rose, which is better?
As opposed to the overt racism blacks express all over this country’s whites and other non-blacks?
It’s about depressing Walker’s ability to draw campaign money to run a viable campaign.
Hillary is given a pass on her $2B Clinton foundation fund (along with everything else) that is taking in millions from foreign countries.
It’s what the Left can count on.
I do have a strong preference for white.
The main stream media is to journalism what islam is to religion.
The media ain't journalism and islam ain't religion.
