I don’t expect them to admit it. In fact, to me, their denial just makes the charge more creditable. I know that they are capable of doing such a thing.

This denial from someone who admittedly has no clue what is going on around him until he reads it in the paper months after the fact is very telling.
The usual response is to neither confirm or deny these types of issues.

There may or may not have been an actual threat, but I have no doubt the idea was floated especially in light of Zbigniew Brzezinski's statement from 2008:

“...“We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?...

Now why would they have “no choice” but to turn back?

I do not believe O would give such an order. I tend to think it is bluster. But a question just the same:

does anyone think an actual order such ad this given by the (barf!) CIC would make it down the chain of command?

Interested in what our military minds think.
