I don’t expect them to admit it. In fact, to me, their denial just makes the charge more creditable. I know that they are capable of doing such a thing.
There may or may not have been an actual threat, but I have no doubt the idea was floated especially in light of Zbigniew Brzezinski's statement from 2008:
“...We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?...
We have to be serious about denying them that right, If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse....”
Now why would they have “no choice” but to turn back?
I do not believe O would give such an order. I tend to think it is bluster. But a question just the same:
does anyone think an actual order such ad this given by the (barf!) CIC would make it down the chain of command?
