Hes emerged as one of the leading contenders in recent weeks, and now a new Rasmussen poll shows that Scott Walker has the best chance of any of the potential Republican candidates against Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head match-up.
After a strong few weeks, including finishing second in the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll over the weekend, the Wisconsin governor is within striking distance of Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee. The survey found that 46 percent of likely voters supported Clinton, while 41 percent backed Walker. Supporters of neither candidate received 8 percent, with the remaining 6 percent undecided.
Walker enjoys stronger support against Clinton than any of his potential primary rivals. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush trailed Clinton 45 percent to 36 percent, according to Rasmussen. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who announced on Tuesday that he is launching an exploratory committee to run, is behind Clinton by double-digits, 47 percent to 36 percent.
Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules for 4 YEARS
Walker would beat Thunder Thighs
I wonder if Slick Willie’s wife will still win in 2016 if she has to run from her cell in “the Iron Bar Hotel”.
“...the Wisconsin governor is within striking distance of Clinton...”
Aim small, miss small! :)
If the media keeps going after Walker those numbers will be reversed in a couple of weeks.
Loretta Lynch has vowed to issue subpoenas on email-gate by Feb 2025.
I suppose polls like this demolish the “electability” argument of GOPe, but I’m sure that this won’t stop them. Maybe they’ll flood the primaries with non-party voters.
It won’t be easy for media to call Walker a right wing extremist. The only item they have found so far is he dropped out of college a few months before graduation. Of course they do not mention he quit college to work for Red Cross.
LOL! I can believe it.
I sure hope he doesn’t choose Marco Rubio as his running mate. YUCK. I’d rather have Judge Jeanine Pirro over Marco Rubio! Judge Andrew Napolitano would be an awesome VP as well.
Scott Walker can just ask clinton where she was on 9-11-12
Either Kasich or Rubio would help Walker win those crucial states.
It may also have the opposite effect...No college experience required...just common sense
Among voters who are following the closest, Walker leads Clinton 51% to 43%.
My Gosh we are good. Keep it up and we will have the best President since Reagan in the White House very shortly. I have never felt more proud to support a candidate like I am with Walker. This is a monumental update. Walker 2016...no doubts.
When they criticize him for things he didn’t say, you know they are desperate.
I agree. After 8 years of boy genius with the Harvard Law degree, I don’t think Americans will give a crap about that. On the other hand, lots of Mexicans with Social Security numbers will be voting ‘Democrat’.
Are you kidding. This is a blessing. To think that we may kick the lawyers and Ivy Leagues to the curb is a wonderful thought. Lawyers and Ivy Leagues have ruined this country. I don't ever want another Lawyer in the White House. They stink badly.
