I think you are giving way to much credit to the Republican party. For the last 8 years perhaps even since 2006, they have been handed issue after issue, scandal after scandal and are clueless. When it comes to a specific Republican
senator or rep to frame it, display, and use all they are handed, I hope you did not have my senator, Susan Collins, in mind. She is simply incapable of such a task.
Have you even seen a Republican candidate who had the fortitude to use such ammo against a Democrat? They are too easily cowered into disregarding it, whether it be using Jeremiah Wright, the middle name Hussein, or this.
