Hmm...sounds familiar. Huey Chavez did smell sulfur before he croaked. He thought it was somebody else.

I believe according to the new treaty agreed upon in secret, Barack Obama is next in the succession line in Iran.
I guess he was too busy damning Israel to notice he was being damned at the same time.

The choice of his successor will depend on who is in the Assembly of Experts and the Guardian Council at the time, who can, in turn, influence the ‘selection’ of the successor. Most probably, Khamenei has already nominated someone in his will too.
Most likely candidates mentioned are: Sadeq Amoli Larijani, Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, Hashemi Rafsanjani and don’t forget Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi (Ahmadinejad’s ‘spiritual’ mentor).
Of the above, only Shahroudi is a Grand ayatollah and a Seyyed (a said descendant of Mohamad, similar to Khomeini & Khamenei). These should carry some weight in his possible selection for the top job.
Other factors come into play as well, especially the influence of IRGC. Although the IRGC, all around, is quite influential, its primary mandate is to protect the Velayate Faghih, ie the foundation of the Islamic Republic (not a specific candidate), particularly during ‘uncertain’ or ‘transition’ periods.
