Emails obtained through a federal lawsuit show that two top aides to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were running interference internally during the 2012 Benghazi terror attack.

The aides were Philippe Reines, widely described as Clinton’s principal gate-keeper, and Cheryl Mills, who has been at Clinton's side for decades.

The emails show that while receiving updates about the assault as it happened,

Wouldn't that have been awesome if Romney had just thought to himself, its make or break this POTUS, right now and walked over to Candy C. and said, what do you have right there a transcript of his speech in the Rose Garden? Why do you have that right there with your questions? Did you just back up the Presidents lies? What other notes do you have there to help the President out?

Turn to the audience, I think we have a problem in Houston here? I am canceling this debate until we can get a non partisan questioner.

At this point, what difference does it make? said the shriveled-up gravity-challenged old shrew.

Hillary...wise up....your own party busted you.

So now we know one of the things Obama had/has on you. I'm betting Obama had your email tapped just like he had Merkels phone tapped.

It would have been great if Romney had been prepared for the underhanded attack by Crowley based on information provided by the Zero team without enough time for her to take a step back and consider how she was being used (not that she would have done anything different). It’s relatively easy to Monday Morning quarterback the situation - this particular teaming up of the journalist with the socialist wasn’t expected to be so blatant and threw him.

I think everyone learned a lesson from the experience - too late to digest and respond in that case.

“”Cheryl Mills is a NASTY piece of work...””

You are right....She goes way back to the Clinton impeachment hearings and took part in his defense. I was very surprised when her name cropped up in the House Benghazi hearings as I assumed she had gone on to more honest work. Dumb me! I had no clue she was still hanging on to a government job and Hillary’s coattails.

This is not hard to believe. How many of us have thought of what we SHOULD have done after the chance has passed? Whether it’s an action or a remark - when we’re too stunned by circumstances to react meaningfully is a natural reaction IMO. We’re all sorry it happened and it shouldn’t have but we cannot fault Romney behaving as any of us would have.
