Zionist Union Maintains Advantage in Final Polls

Final pre-election polls released on Friday evening show that the “Zionist Union”, headed by Yitzhak Herzog and Tzipi Livni, is maintaining a four-seat lead over the Likud headed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

According to election laws in Israel polls cannot be released in the final three days before election day, which is on Tuesday.

A Channel 10 News poll gives the “Zionist Union” 24 seats, while the Likud has 20 seats.

Even if Likud loses, it’s not clear that Zionist Union can form a government.

This is the most important and critical election in our time, not only will it effect Israel, but it has ramafacations for the middle east, the USA, and the whole world.

Just a reminder: Finishing second in the number of seats does not necessarily mean Netanyahu will not head the next government. Lots of negotiations between parties ahead.
