Feds arrest family for 'refusing to answer questions' (video)
WND ^ | 3/20/2015 | Cheryl Chumley

Posted on 03/20/2015 7:48:34 AM PDT by amorphous

A man, woman and their 4-year-old boy at an unidentified Inland Border Patrol checkpoint are ordered and pulled from their vehicle, questioned and taken into custody – all for the seeming offense of refusing to say where they were headed.

A video of the incident, recorded by the family’s dashboard camera, opens with the man and woman chit-chatting with their son in the back, later identified as 4, and pulling up to a border checkpoint. The man, who’s driving, has his window a third of the way down.

The INS can’t be bothered to detain illegals, but it isn’t against INS policy to harass an American Citizen and perform an illegal search?

The agent: “I’m not doing anything against policy.”

No, you’re just violating the law and the constitution.

Indeed, the illegals are just new dependent criminals who will vote Rat. This driver just might be a conservative constitutionalist and a Tea Party member. He is an enemy to the Regime and must be crushed. I suppose he is lucky this has become public and the video wasn't erased.

Evidently they can do whatever they want at an "Inland Border Patrol checkpoint" (whatever that is).

Inland Border Patrol

Is this a new fed agency?

Which "Inland" border are they charged with patrolling?

And since when is habeas corpus suspended?

Oh yeah, I remember...since the Subprime Court ruled that it is "reasonable" for a citizen to be interrogated at such "checkpoints".

I fear for my country.

IN their eyes citizens are illegal as we’re selfish and don’t want the honored visitors here on our dime, don’t you know.
So we must be made to pay for it with our freedom, our rights, and our lives if they can get away with that as well.

Later on in this Gestapo training film the BPE officer said “Here’s the thing - my dog ‘alerted’ to your vehicle”.....meanwhile NO dog is seen or mentioned between either of the two BPE’s involved. As a juror, this would lead me to believe he was LYING and just self-serving himself and his justification.

The problem is this. All this stuff has happened before - in Germany many years before the start of WWII. Just an infringement here or there, just a little lie here or there, just a little man-handling and oppression here or there to keep the subjects in line.

Meanwhile his buddies back at DHS and his brother agencies are busy escorting illegals to their relatives all over this country.

I got stopped a check point between Harlengin and Corpus Christi. I just answered the questions and went my way, but I felt violated in some way. There are way too many people who are uncritically “just doing their jobs” in the police state. It’s very scary that more LEO’s don’t see this for what it is.

He may not have had to answer the “where are you going” question, but this is not one of those unconstitutional internal checkpoints. It’s a border checkpoint. They exist for a legitimate reason. It’s best to be cooperative for some things.

This is not a fight in which I’d feel I’d be in the right.

In the Soviet Union, you had to let the police know where you were going and register to travel outside of certain designated areas.

The comments at the source are disheartening, So many believe the couple should have just acquiesced to the assault on their rights. It's that mentality that will sink us, for sure.

The end of the article relays these details:

the date and place of the incident as March 12 at a checkpoint 35 miles north of El Centro, just east of San Diego.

"Inland Border Patrol checkpoint" (whatever that is).

It is a checkpoint that everyone has to go through that is fully within the United States. There is one on I-25 that is north of the border by a good 20 miles (near Las Cruces, NM).

I get up to Canada on a semi-regular basis...usually using a crossing at the end of I-91 in Vermont. When driving south, after having reentered the US,I often see Border Patrol vehicles on I-91 in those little hiding places cops often use...as much as 30 miles south of the border.

I'll bet those dangerous folks with Quebec plates are thrilled to be pulled over by them.If I'm ever pulled over 30 miles from the border I hope I have the courage to tell the agent to go bleep himself.

but this is not one of those unconstitutional internal checkpoints. It’s a border checkpoint.

These are not on the border, but inland, some by more than 25 miles. As a citizen, it's bullstuff to be within your own country, and not coming or going between different countries, and have to go through these and answer any questions.

LEO’s need to their paychecks too ya know. If it kills or violates the rights of some “citizen” peasant then so be it.

My brother-in-law is a SWAT officer in Texas and one of my cousin’s is a doughnut eating cop for some small city up north. Both tell me that if they were told to start ignoring Constitutional protections afforded to citizens, very few of their colleagues would object since they have families to feed......
