As the political world's focus begins to turn to the race to succeed President Barack Obama, a new CNN/ORC poll finds Americans are split over whether Obama's time in office has been a success. But they are now more likely than at any point during his tenure to say things in the country are going well.

This poll isn't an outlier either. His recent approval polls support this view. With dropping gas prices and an economy that doesn't entirely suck, any President would be riding high.

I think people just don’t understand the demographic change in the voting public....especially in the last 15 years. The GOP has lost the states of CO, VA, NV, FL NH & OH.

50% of what? Illegal aliens, cockroaches, ISIS head choppers, Fags, Lesbians, people with AIDS, people with Ebola, Iranian Mullahs, people in the State Department, gonorrhea causing bacteria, syphilis causing bacteria, black people, white people, toads, termites? You are just going to have to be more specific.

Insofar as the attainment of his goals, Hussein thus far is certainly a success.

Need to define “success.” I think he’s been VERY successful in damaging America and her Constitution.

“He’s been extremely successful at wrecking our country, betraying our allies, and helping our enemies.”

Yes. Hard to say he has not been a success. We are deep in dept, the economy is in terrible shape, our enemies are emboldened and our former friends suspicious.

As those seem to have been his goals, he has been successful.

Oh, and he did get elected twice!

It is too dangerous to elect a black person to POTUS. They get carte blanch to spend as much as they want and ignore the Constitution because of the color of their skin. To oppose them is racist. So it can’t work and I think everyone agrees now except blacks and the truly whacked out deranged leftists.

”… and any others getting government goodies."

The only federal government service that the Founding States delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for, and which can possibly serve all citizens on an almost daily basis, is the US Mail Service (1.8.7). In other words, the states have never constitutionally authorized the corrupt feds to tax and spend for Social Security, Medicare, intrastate schooling, etc..

Please bear with the following explanation as to why the corrupt feds are now providing such services.

Note that the Founding States had not only established the federal Senate, but had given control of the Senate uniquely to state lawmakers. This is partly so that federal senators could protect their states by killing House appropriations bills that raised revenue for things that Congress couldn’t justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, such bills essentially stealing state revenues.

The Supreme Court had clarified this as follows.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

The problem is that state lawmakers later ratified the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, foolishly giving up the voices of state lawmakers in Congress.

So now, constitutionally clueless voters go home and watch football after voting for their favorite senators, unaware that their senators are actually helping the corrupt House to steal citizens' dollars with constitutionally indefensible federal taxes.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear.

Of those polled, 30 percent were Black, 25 percent were Latino and 10 percent were Gay/Lesbian.

When the next Dem nominee is White, in 2016, the Black turn-out will not be what it was in ‘08 and ‘12. The novelty is gone; they’ve had their Black President. The new has worn off. On Election Day, they will not clear out the jail houses, crack houses and Ho houses like they did for the past two Elections.

50% view Obama as a success

He has been very successful in what he set out to do.

So was Pol Pot.

Doesn't mean I approve or applaud.

If everyone’s so damn happy, why did Democrats get their butts kicked in the last elections. I’m starting to question anything by these outlets, Netanyahu is a prime example their push polling.

For those laying in the hammock, I guess he is a success. Just do the math, Romney’s 47% plus another 3 of lunatics and there you have it.

IF that is the case, then 50% of this country are complete morons- We’ll know if they are or not come 2016- I highly suspect they are morons, incapable of common sense - After watching that woman exclaim with a crap eating grin on her face that the reason she voted for dear leader a second term was so that she could ‘git her some of that obamamoney’, and when asked where she thought it would come from, she got an even bigger crap eating grin on her face and shrugged her shoulders and said “It’s just free, that’s all”

I was convinced we were lost as a country because apparently the majority of Americans felt the same way she did
