"Back in my day, we didn't have this Twitter, or Facebooks or any kind of way to "text" messages directly to the American people. No! If you wanted to announce for president, why you would call a press conference days ahead of time and you would hope that the networks would send somebody to cover your announcement. That's the way it was done and we LIKED it. If the big 3 networks decided you were not important enough to cover then guess what, NOBODY knew you were even running for president and if you decided to run anyway, we all called you a CRACKPOT. That's the way it was in my day and WE LIKED IT!"

Got to think of twitter as the old physical party-line where you would pick up the phone and everyone was listening. Our nation is being ruled by a dictator. I would use the partyline if my barn was burning down. I do have a twitter account but spend much too much time here at Free Republic.
