“Apartheid state” is a leftist trope. It’s a red herring, inflammatory words designed to invoke emotion and cut off rational thought. Denying Arabs the vote does not equal “apartheid,” and conservatives shouldn’t accept that false premise.
The fact is that Israel is unique. Did the Boers in South Africa flee there after a tortured history of pogroms and genocide? No. Was SA established specifically to give the persecuted Afrikaans a safe homeland in the midst of a hostile world? No. And most important, did God Himself promise South Africa to white people? Of course not. So don’t toss around the word “apartheid” in reference to Israel.
Restricting the franchise to Jews is the most rational, least repressive, and most humane thing to do when a hostile minority is poised to threaten Israel’s very existence. It’s vastly preferable to the other alternatives. Israel needs to claim its own territory - all of it, including Judea and Samaria - and the Arabs can live there in peace without ethnic cleansing or expulsion. They just shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
That’s why I point out that Israel is NOT an APARTHEID STATE ... the accusations coming from its enemies! And also, Israel is not about to become one either!
That’s why Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports a TWO-STATE SOLUTION, per his Bar-Ilan speech in 2009!
But you’re at least implying that Israel would “become one” simply by denying Arabs the franchise. And I say that’s not so.
There is no “two-state solution.” There is instead a “multi-state solution” whereby Israel is a Jewish state within its current borders, and the surrounding Arab states exist within their current borders, and if the Arabs in Israel - including those Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza - wish to leave, and go to an Arab state, Israel has no objection.
Netanyahu has already said he will NOT SUPPORT a “ONE-STATE SOLUTION” ... as Israel already has 20% of its population right now as ARABS, with NO APARTHEID here.
Now, the reason why Netanyahu (and the government of Israel for the last 20 years, and all the Prime Ministers for the last 20 years) won’t have these SIX MILLION ARABS (from the Territories) inside of Israel, added to the 20% of the population already here with full citizenship (as Israel does, “not being” Apartheid) is that this would turn Israel into an ARAB STATE with a few Jews in it! In one or two ELECTIONS, the Arabs would have the FIRST PRIME MINISTER ever of “Israel”!
ALSO ... in terms of those ARABS moving to another place ...
Egypt doesn’t want them, Jordan doesn’t want them, Lebanon doesn’t want them, and Syria doesn’t want them ... in fact no one wants them! ... LOL ...
The problem here is that the Palestinians are not residing on territory that is controlled by Egypt, or Jordan, or Lebanon or Syria. They are actually living and residing on land that ISRAEL gained control over ... back in 1967. Therefore, they’re not a problem for Egypt, or Jordan or Lebanon or Syria (or any other country) ... but only for Israel.
Those are people who BELONG TO ISRAEL and no one else, because Israel got the land in 1967. They belong to Israel because whenever a country gains land in a war, they are fully responsible for the people living there.
AND ACTUALLY, Israel doesn’t want them either, which is why Netanyahu is trying to complete the TWO-STATE SOLUTION, per his Bar-Ilan policy speech.
There’s the problem!
