The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African-Americans, has broken its fellowship with Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) following its recent vote to approve same-sex marriage.
The Presbyterian General Assembly, the top legislative body of the PCUSA, voted last June to revise the constitutional language defining marriage. This arbitrary change of Holy Scripture is a flagrantly pretentious and illegitimate maneuver by a body that has no authority whatsoever to alter holy text.
Rev. Anthony Evans, NBCI President noted:
"NBCI and its membership base are simply standing on the Word of God within the mind of Christ. We urge our brother and sisters of the PCUSA to repent and be restored to fellowship."
"PCUSA's manipulation represents a universal sin against the entire church and its members. With this action, PCUSA can no longer base its teachings on 2,000 years of Christian scripture and tradition, and call itself a Christian entity in the body of Christ. It has forsaken its right by this single wrong act.
"Apostle Paul warns us about this when he declared in Galatians 1:8 that there are those who will preach another gospel.
"For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. ... For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
"No church has the right to change the Word of God. By voting to redefine marriage PCUSA automatically forfeits Christ's saving grace...

Although this had been anticipated, it is still a very significant event for many Christians.
Sadly, the champions of abortion and sodomy roll on. They’re already making the military a hostile working environment for Christians (and others of the Book).

There is a conservative school of thought in a LOT of black culture. We make a serious mistake to assign all of black culture to the flash mob bunch. They are closer than we think to leaving the dems in some election.
Sounds crazy, but I know too many who are solid citizens and conservative.
They hate bums and thugs, they serve in the military, they like keeping their guns and know gun control is rooted in reconstruction racism.
Someday the dems are in for a rude shock.
I am praying that Ted Cruz can appeal to Roman Catholics and black evangelicals as well as white evangelicals.
That would make for an unbeatable coalition.
The 2016 election will be framed as a values elections—on both sides.
This one is for all the marbles.
Good for these churches. If more congregations had the guts to stand up we wouldn’t be on such a down hill slide now.

PCUSA is taken over by a seditious anti-God/IslamoNazi element, has been for a number of years.
There have been countless efforts of good people of faith, both inside PCUSA and from outside Christian and Jewish groups, trying to help PCUSA restore itself (crawl back to the Bible, however this is best phrased). Alas, most of these efforts have met with complete failure as the clique in control has maintained itself in power ... no matter what.
There are other Calvinist churches that try to be faithful to Christian teachings. There are also other non-Calvinist churches that do likewise. There is no longer any excuse for ANYBODY to belong to PCUSA, a Satanic wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I’d be willing to bet a lot of blacks that are conservative Presbyterians tend to NOT vote Democrat.
Every black person does not vote Democrat.

They are doing so at a time when those who pretend to represent their interest in the Democrat party are rejoicing in wickedness.
It is because of stuff like this that Ted Cruz just might get a big chunk of the Black vote.
After the church supported abortion for over 40 years, and the deaths of more than 58 million babies, all of a sudden the “black churches” get all concerned about gay marriage? Mush for brains.
Well, that’s a good start. Don’t they understand that the dem party is also pro-gay marriage? Maybe they’ll see the connection and break ties with that Godless bunch and the good guys could make some headway next election.
The PC PCUSA probably told them they couldn’t use slurs in their rap music anymore. You can bet that they’ll still be casting their lots with the Democrats.

PC USA is at about half of its membership from 30 years ago and the loss of membership has been accelerating. This will Turbo Charge the losses and send them into the insignificant category.
