You could not pay me to live in California.

Heck, for that matter to visit either.

There are some really beautiful places outside LA, San Fransicko.

The Giant Sequoia's are a must see, Yosemite, another must see. Even Napa Valley is really something.

A nice place to visit for a week or two. I cannot imagine living there, though. The taxes, the regulations, are as bad or worse than NY.

Same here. Also Oregon and most of the states in the North East.

Wow, sorry you will miss out on the most beautiful state in the Union. California is home to the tallest trees in the world.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/krulwich/2011/04/08/135206497/the-worlds-tallest-tree-is-hiding-somewhere-in-california

The oldest tree.

http://www.livescience.com/29152-oldest-tree-in-world.html

The highest mountain in the contiguous 48. The second lowest place on Earth.

California actually has the first National Park. The distinction between Yellowstone, is that California was a state at the time, so Kings Canyon/Sequoia was turned over to the state, whereas Wyoming was not so the National Park Service was established.

I could go on, but the wonders of California are well documented. Unfortunately, since you are so repulsed by the government, which is understandable, you will miss beauty that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world.
