FReeper GeronL added the link to Larry Correia's verbal blast (long but good) at that thread.
The Left's assault (sneaky and in our faces) needs to keep being exposed for what it is. Correia's success in confronting their lies is instructive.
fyi
Is ‘Social Justice Warrior’ a Pejorative?
In the Greater Sodom it’s pretty logical..
Where Sodomy is a virtue..
The term the write is looking for is, simply, "bullies." Because "injustice bullies" are, quite simply, bullies.
I actually do not care in the slightest if it is.
It’s also happened with the game industry ‘journalism’- where ugly truths were exposed despite harassment and coordinated suppression across multiple forums.
Perhaps individuals that use the SJW platform (think Chelsea van Valkenberg, Ellen Pao, and the people complaining about the sci-fi awards) might want to step back and look at the results of their actions. It won’t be pleasant for them, but denying reality only gets worse with time.
I am thankful that reality is winning over the attempts to enforce a narrative.
It is for me.
I can just hear the liberal whine: "What's wrong with 'social justice'? How can you be against justice of any kind?"
Yes--It's another term for "abject coward."
Depends.
If one is an advocate of Begeronian egalitarianism, I suppose it would be a compliment.

TITLE: The Folk Song Army
We are the Folk Song Army
Everyone of us cares
We all hate poverty, war and injustice
Unlike the rest of you squares
There are innocuous folk songs
Yeah, but we regard 'em with scorn
The folks who sing 'em have no social conscience
Why they don't even care if Jimmy crack corn
If you feel dissatisfaction
Strum your frustrations away
Some people may prefer action
But give me a folk song any old day
The tune doesn't have to be clever
And it don't matter if you put a couple extra syllables into a line
It sounds more ethnic if it ain't good English
And it don't even gotta rhyme - excuse me - rhyne
Remember the war against Franco
That's the kind where each of us belongs
Though he may have won all the battles
We had all the good songs
So join in the Folk Song Army
Guitars are the weapons we bring
To the fight against poverty, war, and injustice
Ready, aim, sing!
Nice to see our side of this gaining traction.
Admission: I’m a minor Minion of the Evil Legion of Evil, the joke organization behind the Sad Puppies campaign.
Especially as we lost a small battle yesterday, John C. Wright (who was over for BBQ on Sunday) just lost his nomination for best novella, because he posted a PORTION of the work online, on his blog, in 2013, prior to formal publication in 2014. But, SJW darling John Scalzi had published his “Old Man’s War” online THREE years prior, and was still eligible to be nominated for a Hugo in 2006. . .
William Shetterly is probably a Marxist, but he’s unique in being far left and criticizing the social justice warriors. They make the mistake of assuming “we call you out on unorthodoxy - bash you into silence or submission ..... somehow, magically, racism and sexism go away”.
He is also the first person I’ve seen bring up the longer history of SJW in science fiction, like silencing a Chinese Thai writer who criticized the mostly liberal white left’s preoccupations and Elizabeth Moon, a female war veteran and sci-fi author, for criticizing the 9-11 mosque, asking why we should allow one near 9-11 when Saudi Arabia won’t even allow churches in their nation. Ms. Moon was drummed out of a place of honor at a convention after 9-11-01 for that stance, so the Sad Puppies and Hugo Awards are only the big public breakout of something that has been building for a decade.

Larry Correia is awesome. He also knows what Freepers are :). He used to own a gun store and he writes the best action scenes anywhere.
This stuff with the Hugo’s is giving me hope that someday I won’t have to hide my conservativism to be published.
Dear George RRRRRRR Martin,
Shut up and kill the rest of your cast.Love,
Laz
The answer to the headline question is “yes”. Self-appointed moral vigilantes love to run in packs and attack the weak. You see them everywhere from political websites to web comics’ comments sections. Social justice is theft, and they are proud and smirking thieves.
