What the News Isn’t Saying About Vaccine-Autism Studies ( Sharyl Attkisson )
Sharyl Attkisson ^ | April 25, 2015 | Sharyl Attkisson

Posted on 04/25/2015 6:37:22 AM PDT by george76

A new study this week found no link between vaccines and autism. It instantly made headlines on TV news and popular media everywhere. Many billed it as the final word, “once again,” disproving the notion that vaccines could have anything to do with autism.

What you didn’t learn on the news was that the study was from a consulting firm that lists major vaccine makers among its clients: The Lewin Group.

That potential conflict of interest was not disclosed in the paper published in The New England Journal of Medicine; the study authors simply declare “The Lewin Group operates with editorial independence.”

(As an aside, according to OpenSecrets.org, The Lewin Group’s parent company, UnitedHealth Group, is a key government partner in Obamacare. Its subsidiary QSSI was given the contract to build the federal government’s HealthCare.gov website. One of its top executives and his family are top Obama donors.)

Conflicts of interest alone do not invalidate a study. But they serve as important context in the relentless effort by pharmaceutical interests and their government partners to discredit the many scientists and studies that have found possible vaccine-autism links.

...

The supposedly best medical experts in the world who deny vaccines have anything to do with autism remain at an utter loss to explain this generation’s epidemic. To declare the science “settled” and the debate “over” is to defy the plain fact that many scientists worldwide are still sorting through it, and millions of people are still debating it.

The body of evidence on both sides is open to interpretation. People have every right to disbelieve the studies on one side. But it is disingenuous to pretend they do not exist.

That is true. There were studies one could get hold of back in the law nineties when this epidemic became known

If there is indeed “no evidence”, then I guess we can remove that government edict that holds vaccine developers immune to lawsuit due to adverse effects of its vaccines (those pesky actuarial infinitesimal debilitations directly caused by them), huh?

They play benefit/loss games and in the end they don’t give a crap if one out of a million dosed patients have their futures destroyed. And, to keep the profit making developers comfortable, they lend cover. Simple as that, even when that actuarially infinitesimal number gets bothersome.

I vaccinated. Wanted the kids to attend schools. Right for them in particular

Very apprehensive. Spaced the vaccines out. Read up on what other first world countries were doing. Stayed clear of (still do) of antibiotics. Used them a couple of times.

Had many altercations with pediatrician a and their staff not to mention aggressive guilty parents

Spaced the vaccines out.

Probably the smartest thing you ever did, IMO.

“I don’t remember anything about autism in the 50’s. Was it called something else then?”

I don’t think there was any name for it. I was born in 54 and had a neighbor kid who was Rain Man level autistic and no one knew at the time what his situation was.

“Fake autism” is a great way for parents to receive the benefits of having a “disabled child”; I know parents of a “high-functioning autism” child, and I’ll tell you there is nothing wrong with the kid. He just shows the classic traits of an only child who rarely sees his parents (due to their jobs) and is raised by TV. Nothing unusual in his speech or behavior; he just isn’t accustomed to being around children his own age outside of a school setting, and shows the normal attention deficit of TV kids (where the attention span is approximately the length of a commercial). On the other hand, I’ve interacted with autistic children; there is a huge indisputable difference.

Guilt by association?

What I do know for sure is that consulting firms have many clients, but are not know for doctoring data to satisfy one client at the expense of another.

‘... In the late 60s with a son who really WAS autistic - completely incapable of any human contact, non verbal, fixated on machinery and loud noises, just sat around and rocked repetitively’

Got two of them just in my extended family. Don’t know what we’ll do when their parents are gone.

Have one, two, three, four in my circle of friends all teens now

No speech until five or six years old - I’ve known them that long, violent, unable to function

You might want to just read the article or find out about the illustrious sharyl attkisson You sound ignorant on this subject. Willfully so

“I don’t remember anything about autism in the 50’s. Was it called something else then?”

I don’t know what they called it, but I’m sure it was rare; it still is, but has changed from “autism” to “autism spectrum” so parents and schools can conspire to defraud the government (read: taxpayers). It is used to describe anyone who might bring down a school’s average grades or reflect poor parenting skills (unfortunately lumping them with the genuine rarer cases).

In a thread lie this one, where the investigative reporter is doing what we beg them to do- investigate and report- and in her case, get fired and smeared from CBS for doing so, re BO, those of you who comment without reading this lay and language, extensive article which addresses concerns many of us have had of the past twenty years

You stand out like a sore thumb for not having READ the article you’re emotionally and aggressively, ignorantly commenting on

First time mothers aren’t always so well educated. Maybe today - at least those who have the desire and means to have a child - but a lot of them are struggling very hard to understand all the ins and out of it and are overwhelmed.

MMR and two or three other shots at the same time for a small baby/child might not seem innately abnormal to them if the ‘doctor’ tells them it’s okay. Personally, I know of two cases where it wasn’t. In reality, I’d avoid a doctor like that like the plague.

It’s why suppressed investigations like the ones ms attkisson is bravely exposing are so important

Moms could think. If they weren’t programmed to believe they should not think

Why should they blindly trust any corporation. No one ever has in the past. Corporations had to earn the trust of consumers

We think we’re so smart but women used to be consumers and bought by reputation.

Doctors ... I don’t know. Why are they so reluctant to see this ? Good ones are out there(ones who will treat patients like they can think for tgem selves and take care of their families

Personally, I am glad she’s out there even if she was a part of the misleading Mainstream Media for so long.

Her political reporting on the true aspects of Benghazi is certainly important. I consider warning potential and new mothers to this aspect of immunization vaccines essential.

Are you as passionate about the Americans returning from Ebola-infested areas of Africa and flatly refusing to a 21-day quarantine based on individual rights guaranteed by the Constitution?

Have you and your friends in Cali been sounding off about the very real prospect of the homosexuals being allowed to give blood based on their word they haven’t had sex with another homosexual in the previous six months(or maybe 12)?

What do you and your friends in Cali think about the 0bama administration forcing the importation of illegals, dumping them in our schools while already infected with diseases that America had long since eradicated? Any problem with that?

Just wondering. Give your buddies in the Golden State my regards if you would. Thanks.
