After a hard fought and long awaited result, your NRA-ILA is pleased to report that House Bill 995s conference committee majority report was signed into law this morning. ~snip~
The report removed the ability for municipalities to opt-out of park carry, thus removing a patchwork of laws throughout the state of Tennessee that could turn law-abiding Tennesseans with handgun carry permits into unintentional criminals.

I was somewhat (and pleasantly) surprised when Gov. Haslam signed this into law. Step by step we are removing the obstacles that have infringed on our 2nd Amendment rights.

Handgun carry permits suck. Constitutional carry is what the founders gave us. We need to return to that.

I may be wrong, as we all know the older historians wrote plenty of lies, but I seem to recall some stories from history class where private shipping companies had their ships confiscated/pressed into service to assist the US navy, because they were so well armed and needed for whatever war. (1812 maybe?) And yet, today, if I owned a wooden ship with cloth sails and 10 cannon, I'd probably end up in jail for life for having so many destructive devices!

The use of privateers is actually mentioned in the Constitution.
The U.S. Constitution provides, Article I, Sec. 8 cl. 11:
The Congress shall have Power ... To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
