Somehow I think Kerry wants a super-leader who can overrule the popular will, limit who can run for office, and the like on behalf of the ideology of the American “elite” like Khamenei can do on behalf of the Iranian revolutionary “elite”, not a theocrat or an anti-Israeli fanatic.
