Barreto says those behind LIBRE are “playing the long game” and don’t really have to win Republican votes, but rather raise doubts about Democrats to suppress support for them.
The Latino Victory Fund, which is backed by Democratic activists, including actress Eva Longoria, is so concerned about LIBRE that it is gathering Latino leaders in Washington next week to discuss how to counter the efforts, which they view as disingenuous.
According to tax records, LIBRE has received $10 million since it began in 2011 from Freedom Partners, a nonprofit group backed by the Koch brothers and other conservative donors. Garza said the group has hundreds of donors.
At the drivers’ test prep class on Sunday, the crowd applauded a video touting the American Dream and showing the journey of Garza, the son of a migrant worker from Mexico who went on to work in the White House for President George W. Bush.
Rosana Romero, a popular anchor at the local Spanish-language station in Las Vegas, MundoFox, which joined in sponsoring the Sunday event, greeted people as they arrived. Spanish-language TV stations have been reporting on the free classes and interviewing LIBRE officials. Everyone who came was asked to leave their names and contact information under a big blue sign that read, ”Limited government, Unlimited opportunities.”.....

What is a Latino leader? Are there white leaders? If so where are they?
“....Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro, a rising star in the Democratic Party and a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, said while LIBRE may have an impact, he doesn’t believe its concern for the Hispanic community is genuine.
“[It is] a Koch-Republican effort to shave off a portion of the Hispanic vote,” Castro said. “The question for Democrats is what are we going to do to counter that?”

The Libs just hate it when you copy their tactics and use it against them. This some violates whatever it is that they understand to be the idea of “fair”. For the GOP to discourage Latino voters from blindly voting D is “just not fair” and needs to be condemned in articles that appear in, for example, The Washington Post.

Good. Just by simply showing them how socialism does not work, as this can be done with blacks, gays, and other groups Democrats have simply treated as useful idiots over the years.

Interesting. But my back of the envelope calculation still gives something like a 65/35 split amongst Latino VOTERS in favor of Obama immigration policies. We have a lot of work to do.
Too often some here on FR relate all Latinos to mexican border jumpers/criminals. Latins I know would never vote for the beast and didnt vote for zero.

If the Republicans end up getting a majority of the Hispanic vote, the Democrats suddenly won’t be nearly as enthusiastic for amnesty as they are now.
Didn’t the demokrats hold a big pow wow and determine they needed to court white working class vote? After bashing whites and the middle class for not looking out for the greater good?
The Koch Brothers view of Amnesty, First Amendment rights for religious conservatives, Common Core and Obamacare are what matters to me, not political tactics to help the GOPe fight the Democrats for “Latinos”.
The Koch brothers could spend the next year and a half sipping umbrella drinks on chaise lounges on the beach in Fiji, it wouldn't stop the Partisan Media Shills.
