Just wanted to point out that some of us saw this clearly before the election and tried to prevent it.

I know.

I remember a good number of conservatives argued that it's pointless to win the Senate majority and have it led by a big govt. corporatist. Until we wake up and refuse to re-elect leadership that fails to fight for conservatives this is going to continue.

I know if it's a "moderate" that gets the nomination to run for POTUS I'll be sitting it out.

Simple, we need to field better candidates where we can win. Aiken and Mourdock types might be good people, but they proved to be lousy candidates. A pro-life candidate should say “I’m pro-life”. And leave it at that. Trying to play theologian or gynecologist is not the role of a candidate.

Likewise in economics, a candidate should simply say “A worker should keep more of the money he worked for.” No need for the candidate to bore us with the intricate details of the tax code.

Likewise on other issues. We tend to select the wrong type of people, people with irresistible impulses to elaborate on the simple.
