I live in Kentucky and the vindictiveness of Mitch McConnell is worse than you can imagine.

Now that we see that the majority leader has no intention of fighting for conservative issues, such as ending obamacare and securing the border, I wonder if all those folks who said he was better than a Rat still think so.

It is just so discouraging to see the Pubs get larger majorities and still they won't fight for the people who sent them there.

Just wanted to point out that some of us saw this clearly before the election and tried to prevent it.

Absolutely no question better than that women who ran against him.

McConnell will be gone from the Senate well before she ever would be. It was important to keep her out of the the Senate.

Bevin deserves kudos for trying, but he fell way short.

I doubt he will do better for the Governorship.

And yes, this does show the pettiness and vindictiveness of McConnell who is pathetic.

It isn't, or shouldn't be, really "discouraging", any more than walking up to a wild bear and being disappointed to find yourself getting eaten alive. It is expected: wild bears are propelled by nature to eat smaller animals, and establishment Republicans are propelled by their nature to oppose conservatism above all else. And, while these outcomes are unfortunate, they aren't really disappointing. Many Republican voters haven't come to grips with the fact that establishment Republicans are as great, or even greater, an enemy of conservatism as are Democrats. What is discouraging is that these Republican voters continue to maintain the false hope that a bad Republican is better for conservatives than a Democrat, when precisely the opposite is true. That is the discouraging part.

Maybe I missed it but I never read anyone supporting McConnell. I said with others that nothing justified voting for a Democrat and I stand by that. But I also said and still say that I wouldn’t vote for him either. Apparently not enough conservatives agreed with that or he wouldn’t still be in office. I feel certain there’s enough conservative support that if it were truly held back, their numbers would be enough to defeat these guys.
