Italy (and much of Europe) won’t do it for the same reason we keep our borders open: Without masses of immigrants the population would simply disappear. Our lib/Dem governor Corzine admitted years ago that without ILLEGAL immigration NJ had lost population; that trend has only worsened. Rather than close schools, demolish vacant housing, and lay off all of the government employees involved in “administering” to the population, they simply traffick a new population here.
Unless Americans start having families again, don’t expect this to change any time soon.
I can understand the problem with declining population but in this case, it’s like welcoming a plague.
The world they leave their children will be so much worse than the one they inherited.
