The veterans-backed Political Action Committee notes that congressional precedent dictates that all cabinet members remain subject to impeachment and disqualification from holding office even after resignation.
In a forthcoming letter to supporters, SOS co-founder and retired Navy SEAL Captain Larry Bailey notes that former President John Quincy Adams was a prominent supporter of post-resignation impeachment and that the House successfully impeached Secretary of War William Belknap in 1876 even after he had left office. "If the 44th Congress had the power to impeach the War Secretary after he exited his post, then the 114th Congress can impeach Hillary Clinton in the same fashion," Bailey argues. "Congress needs to remember that they have a backbone and that they have in their hands the power to end Hillary Clinton's Presidential run -- and any official pursuits she may have -- once and for all."
"Hillary Clinton is not going to end her campaign for the Presidency herself, which is why Congress must disqualify her," says SOS Political Director Larry Ward. "The opportunity to serve as the highest officer of the United States cannot be extended to a chronic lawbreaker. Hillary is unfit to serve and must be impeached."

Can you really impeach someone after they leave office, and also disqualify them from holding other federal offices?
Judge Alcee Hastings was impeached and removed from office. but then he later ran and was elected to Congress.

Sadly, no. The power of impeachment may be applied only against current office holders. Hence Nixon escaped impeachment by resignation. While I sympathize with the motives behind this move, it would open a HUGE can of constitutional worms if an attempt were made to impeach someone after they have left office. And I think it would be thrown out by the courts.

I am pretty sure his conviction by the Senate did not include a prohibition on holding other offices in the future. Someone more knowledgeable about the case will correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, of course it’s real. Impeachment has two purposes - one is removal, the other is prevention of future office holding.
Disqualification from office does not bind the Congress (which is why Alcee Hastings is a congressman). But it absolutely bars holding any “office of trust or profit under the United States”, including the Presidency.

It would depend upon what federal court would hear the case....such as it would be heard in Washington D.C. Federal Court...
I think the Constitution says that a felon can hold office, but I think that is for Senator or Representative of a State...
One way to make sure she doesn’t get voted in as POTUS is make sure EVERYONE knows her background, EVERYTHING in her background...but then there are those who would still vote for her....

I finally got someone on the phone at Boehner’s office this morning. Sounded like an intern. I talked about impeaching BO and all he could say was how bad it turned out for the Republicans last time and how they didn’t have the votes in the Senate. I said if BO’s crimes ( if proved) were really prosecuted in public-about Benghazi and the new info that he and Hillary knew 10 days in advance, then any dem that didn’t vote to impeach would look like an utter fool. I said it’s not about party, but country. He could only refer to the Iran deal that Congress got passed to show that Congress was not totally worthless. Please call.

That's an interesting thought because everyone took for granted that the Kenyan in the oval office was qualified since (mentally unbalanced) Nancy Pelosi certified him. I guess a "not qualified" tattoo on her forehead would remove any doubt beforehand.
We need a constant, thoughtful, fact-based, barrage of outrage, ridicule, and condemnation, of her behavior and pattern of dishonesty.
It must be loud and everywhere.
