Two weeks ago, conservatives were calling for George Stephanopoulos to recuse himself from all coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign, on the grounds that the ABC News anchor had failed to inform viewers of his financial donations to the Clinton Foundation.
Three days after that controversy broke, Stephanopoulos hosted an exclusive interview with Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Then, on Wednesday, he landed an even bigger exclusive: Rick Santorum, the former Republican senator from Pennsylvania, would be announcing his bid for the presidency. Stephanopoulos also landed the first interview with Santorum, which will take place this afternoon.
The McConnell and Santorum exclusives send a clear signal: Republicans aren't going to punish Stephanopoulos. Whether ABC News made a strategic push to land these exclusives is not known, but there's no disputing that they have proved helpful. ...

Of course they came to the rescue of Stephanopolos
Perhaps they should check with Republicans instead of Democrats calling themselves Republicans.
You betcha. Ole Mitch will use George Stepen-up-on-us to feed stories to attack the Tea Party and Conservatives in general.
McConnell and Stephanopolous agree on most everything, especially how much they hate conservatives.
Never underestimate the stupidity of McConnell and the rest of the RINO GOP. Again, Kentucky you must be so proud, you knew what McConnell was but you put him back in anyway.
Some one needs to take McDemocrat out...
to a restaurant that is..that’s what i meant.
Republicans saved Stephy back in 2007. When Obama said “my muslim faith” and Stephy corrected him, Republicans should have pounced.
The McConnell and Santorum exclusives send a clear signal: Republicans aren’t going to punish Stephanopoulos.
++++
Well it may be clear to Politico. But it isn’t clear to me. The whole thesis is simply wishful thinking. Does Santorum speak for the the Republican Party? Give me a break. And McConnell? He speaks for himself and the Dems.
Santorum will speak to anyone in the hope that someone will acknowledge him.
Just business as usual for the Uniparty.
People would understand why things happen the way they do much more easily if they could get their heads around the fact that those people are NOT RINOs. They are the Republican Party. It is conservatives who are Republicans In Name Only and have been since Bush I succeeded Reagan. The Party organization has been left wingers, corporativists, and statists since Eisenhower and the Conservatives got some of it back with Reagan but couldn’t hold on to it after that.
They face bias with every media outlet other then FOX.
Bingo!
I wonder if Hillary shared the contents of the FBI files from 1993-94?
