With shootings on the rise in NYC, is de Blasio vulnerable?

The screaming tabloid headlines harken a darker, scarier time in New York history. “Four more murders in one night,” the New York Post wrote under the grieving loved ones of a shooting victim. The front page of The Daily News blared “Subway Crime Soars.”

In reality, the uptick in violence is small. But even the perception that New York is suffering any sort of backslide into the violence-plagued bad old days of the 1970s has empowered critics of Mayor Bill de Blasio.

De Blasio has assured the public that overall crime is down and that measures are already being put in place to combat the violence, much as the city stopped a pre-summer uptick a year ago. Yet the liberal mayor has faced criticism that he’s soft on crime and, some experts warn, that belief could endanger some of the criminal justice reforms he has promised. “Sometimes reality does not matter,” said Christina Greer, political science professor at Fordham University. “If voters think they are less safe in 2015, in 2016 and especially 2017, the mayor has lost. He’s lost everything: lost his agenda, lost his job.”

It is undeniable that 2015 has been bloodier in New York. …

The chickens eventually come home to roost when a mindless liberal occupies the Gracie Mansion. Most NY’ers weren’t even born when the ‘bad old days’ were happening, much less remember them. No, they’ll have to learn all over again.

Listen for the cries for Rudy or someone like him to PLEASE get us out of this mess!

As long as de Blasio/Wilhelm continues to give away “free stuff” he’ll be okay.

So, how does conservatism win elections in cities? Almost, ALL GOP wins in cities are by leftist GOP candidates.

Doesn't the mayor wear body armor?

If not, he is more vulnerable than if he were to wear body armor.

Proof that Wilson and Kelling’s Broken Windows theory was correct.

Poor Warren Wilhelm. At least he still has his little, lesbian wife to go home to.

DiBlasio is a total nitwit and even his backers know it.

NYC exists due to the money it steals from the stock market on Wall St as well as what they can squeeze in income tax from as many proles as they can.

The prole supply and Wall St are stable, NYC can absorb 4,000 murders a year (that's over a hundred a day) and still turn a profit.

"With shootings on the rise in NYC, is de Blasio vulnerable?"

He should be vulnerable. But probably not, at least not yet. I don't smell fear among New Yorkers, yet.

I’m not sure what the writer means by vulnerable but if it was a choice between a stray bullet because this mayor is feckless hitting him or an innocent child; I would hope it would hit him.

Karma ya know.
