That depends on whether or not other nations in the region really want to get involved. Iran wants to mount lots of nukes and nuke us. The plan, according to rants from the Iranian leadership years ago, was to arm Syria with nukes and have Syria help. That part of the plan has failed, and the Russian leadership is mad about it.

The Soviets were much of the influence behind the Six Day War. It's the way that they liked to work: starting fights between other nations and other nations and civil wars within nations while looking for opportunities to take more real estate (or to take more nations full of minds poisoned by them). Not many people are aware of that.
