CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) -- A 2007 email shows FIFA President Sepp Blatter and then-South African President Thabo Mbeki held "discussions" over $10 million that ultimately went to allegedly corrupt soccer executives as payback for supporting the country's World Cup bid, a newspaper claimed Sunday.

South Africa's Sunday Times reported that the email from FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke to the South African government asks when the $10 million will be transferred.

The newspaper said that in the email, which was not published, Valcke wrote that the $10 million was "based on discussions between FIFA and the South African government, and also between our President (Blatter) and President Thabo Mbeki."

American investigators alleged in their indictment into corruption in world soccer that the $10 million went to Jack Warner, who is currently under arrest, as payback for him and two other senior FIFA executives voting for South Africa to host the 2010 World Cup.

1) We really need South Africa's Sunday Times to investigate the *Crintons.
2) Wouldn't it actually help Hillary's campaign if she was arrested and placed under indictment? She could then claim SOME sort of legal status in order to avoid questions - just like she's doing now.

While they are at it, check the 2014 bid too. South Africa, Brazil, Russia and Qatar. I’m sure there was bribing going back for years.

with graft, corruption, and bribery of the levels being reported within FIFA... it's almost a metaphysical certainty that Bill and/or Hillary have their grubby little fingers in the pie. with those two, where there is smoke... there is ALWAYS fire.

America has hosted the World Cup exactly once, in 1994. Blatter assumed FIFA President from Havelange in 1998.

I’m not a real soccer fan though I do tend to enjoy the World Cup. But I have some friends in England who for YEARS have screamed about how corrupt FIFA is. Guess they were correct.
