This is disappointing news, but not surprising. Most had expected it, perhaps Sandoval doesn’t want to live in D.C. Being a Federal officeholder is a great deal than being a state or local officeholder.
I expect Joe Heck to announce some time this Summer.

Some may not agree with this. If you are being paid by taxpayers to serve the public and decide to run for another office, in my view you should quit your day job.
We have too many in Congress who oddly get paid while they run for another office. As an incumbent they believe they are too important to resign their current position to concentrate on running for a new job. It should be mandatory to resign your office to run for a step up the ladder.
In the private sector you don’t get your cake and eat it too.

Iowa is probably the best swing state which has Grassley (H1b skeptic, called Obama stupid, shouted at Schumer), Steve King, Joni Ernst and Rod Blum (anti-neocon and anti-amnesty). Only RINO is David Young who could lose either race in 2016.
He is handsome and has a nice conservative haircut like Romney and can probably utter the words “severely conservative”.

This will clear the field on the GOP side; I don’t know whether any other Democrats will run of whether Catherine Cortez Masto will remain unopposed for the nomination, but either way I think that Heck will be the favorite in the general.
As for the now-open NV-03, it leans slightly Republican and should be very competitive in November if both parties nominate strong candidates. Either Bob Beers and Michael Robertson (both of whom have expressed interest) would be good candidates for the GOP; if ex-Secretary of State Ross Miller (also reputed to be interested) runs for the Democrats, he’d be competitive as well.
Excellent, we need Nevada, it could be our only pickup if Colorado doesn’t get it’s act together.
Cortez Masto appears to have the blessing of Don Fredo Corelone (Reid) so I presume she’ll be the rat for sure.
