While I agree she shouldn’t run, she actually was fine as a candidate. She beat a good field of primary candidates and took it to Reid in the debate. Unfortunately, it’s hard to beat a sitting Senate leader. Small mistakes get magnified, and now Angle is somehow the posterchild of the GOP elite about how bad the tea party is. No one was beating Reid. He had the mob in his pocket and unlimited funds.

It can't be understated how horrendous a candidate she was, a gaffe machine. That's WHY she lost a race that was all but won (due to Reid's lack of popularity). You are QUITE wrong, either of the other 2 candidates would have dispensed with Reid.

She showed what she was when lost a House primary in 2006 and demanded a REVOTE. People were warned not to nominate her, warned by people who actually know half a GD thing about how to win elections, but they didn't listen, she crowned herself Queen of Tea and fools bowed down before her and followed her down the road to defeat (and it wasn't even that close, after we'd led by double digits) and as a consequence the country was gifted 6 more years of the *uckhead gangster Harry Reid. And in the years since there's been far too much apologetics on her behalf. BS excuses like "oh NO ONE could have won".

Horrible candidates (from ANY and ALL wings of the party including "tea party" and "self-proclaimed tea party") need to be thrown into the garbage where they belong.tea party

"Unfortunately, it’s hard to beat a sitting Senate leader."

1932: Dem Frederick Van Nuys beat GOP Majority Leader James Eli Watson (IN)

1950: GOPer Everett Dirksen beat Dem Majority Leader Scott W. Lucas (IL)

1952: GOPer Barry Goldwater beat Dem Majority Leader Ernest McFarland (AZ)

2004: GOPer John Thune beat Dem Minority Leader Tom Daschle (SD)

Hard, but not impossible. Reid is enormously unpopular in NV and is quite defeatable. However, he knew that Angle was a horrible candidate and he wanted no one else to be his opponent but her, and he got it. Virtually any other GOP candidate running would've won and he knew it. He didn't have to cheat in the general. If he did, he could've carried his son, Rory, running for Governor against Sandoval, to victory. He could cook a few votes (like he did in 1998 against John Ensign) in Clark County, but not by the tens of thousands.
