Net Neutrality Launches under FCC’s ‘Ministry of Innovation’
Breitbart ^ | 6/16/15 | Chriss W. Street

The media silence was deafening on Friday as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched “Net Neutrality” regulations–possibly the most far-reaching and intrusive regulatory action of the 21st century.

When Breitbart News published “Everybody Equal, But Google Much More Equal” in February, revealing how the FCC’s Democratic majority gave Google the “heads up” on the secret regulations and allowed executives to tweak the deal, there was a huge uproar. But now that the Internet is under the FCC’s “Ministry of Innovation,” the media seem to have moved on.

As Seton Motley noted at RedState, there was no mention in the tech press Friday about how Net Neutrality will hammer consumer choice and fair play, after the Democrat-dominated RCC redefined the Internet as just another regulated telephone utility under the 1934 Communications Act.

In contrast, the little media coverage devoted to the topic weighed heavily in favor of Net Neutrality. CBS, for example, said, “Many people believe that not only is this the fairest way to keep the Internet free and open, it’s also the only way to maintain an environment that promotes innovation.”

But a big part of that supposed “innovation” seems to be tied to FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler’s willingness to make last-minute-revisions revisions at the request industry insiders, who uniquely were given a copy of the secret 332-page draft document shortly before the FCC vote.

Totally disagree. Net Neutrality is a good thing. It will keep a few from controlling what should belong to we the people. Want Corporations to regulate speech? Support the gutting of net Neutrality. Think a site like this couldn’t get shut down if it pissed off the “owners of the internet”? Then support the gutting of Net Neutrality.

Absolutely no regulation isn’t a Conservative principle, it is an oligarchical one. Conservatism provides a balance which a free flow of ideas, markets need desperately. Liberalism and the Oligarchs (and their GOP supporters) are the ones that want to control us.

Net Neutrality ensures free speech in this sphere and THAT is the bedrock of Conservatism.

And I totally disagree. Net Neutrality is another attempt to control free speech and tax the crap out of anything and everything. We are already monitored 24/7 by the NSA. "Corporations" aren't going to regulating anything. Sounds like progressive bullshit.

Believe what you want, but you won't convince me of this. Ever.

Not the way it is going to be implemented and regulated.

Nope. And that’s not an argument. In fact, I am hardly the only Conservative who believes that and am not even sure that I am in the minority.

There are some so called “conservatives” trying to sell this “Net Neutrality is bad” BS. The time is coming when just a few corps run it all. That is tyranny. I am routinely astounded by Conservatives who think that a non-elected entity like AT&T is better at making these decisions. You know why we are going to get “Gay Marriage”? Because there is money in it. And the moment there is more money in Liberalism than Conservatism then the corporations are going to shove us down a Liberal hole.

The problem isn’t government. The problem is that it isn’t a conservative government.

Nice arguement. But here is a newsflash. In the eyes of our monolithic government, “net nuetrality” means conservative thought will be severly restricted andleftist propaganda will be highlighted and promoted. Not that this isn’t already happening, but if you think big gov is going to come to rescue the conservative viewpoint I think you’re going to be very disappointed. Assuming you actually do support the conservative viewpoint.

Got a newsflash for you as well. That is utterly incorrect.

Here’s what happens. The corporation makes all it’s decisions based on where the money is. They advertising money, the demographic, is NOT in the Conservative audience. Furthermore, we are Christian and therefore follow a god different than advertising and are not as easily influenced. That does NOT help a business model make money. As I’ve said before. Why do you think we are going to get “gay marriage”? Why do you think the big corporations LOVE them some gays? BECAUSE THERE IS MONEY IN IT.

To think that somehow “net neutrally” is going to help Conservatism is myopic at best and clueless at worst.

And I never said “big government”. I said government. What, you think there should be no government? Government isn’t the problem. LIBERAL government is the problem.

And save the “if you are truly a conservative” crap. All that means is “because you don’t agree with me I’m going to say you are not a Conservative”.

Do a little research. Maybe it will help you understand Conservatism. Conservatism trusts the market. 6 corporations owning all the media is not a market. It is tyranny by corporation. Any Conservative worth 2 cents would be 100% against that.

Who said NN is going to help conservatism? Not me. And I agree Liberal government is the “problem,” which isn’t likely to change any time soon, so good luck with “goverment” leveling the playing field. Thanks for the condescending reply!
