Denmark's opposition parties have beaten the ruling coalition after a close general election.
With all mainland votes counted, the centre-right group led by ex-PM Lars Lokke Rasmussen beat PM Helle Thorning-Schmidt's centre-left coalition, although her party is the largest.
Ms Thorning-Schmidt has now stood down as Social Democratic Party leader.
The right-wing, anti-immigration Danish People's Party will become the second-largest in parliament.
In a victory speech just before 01:30 local time (23:30 GMT), Mr Rasmussen - who led the country between 2009 and 2011 - said: "Four years ago, we returned the keys to the PM's office. I said that time that they were only a loan."
He said he would push for "control of the flow of refugees".

bye bye
Sweden, you’re next.
Looks like we can’t make fun of Scandinavia for being lead by Socialists much longer.
Bye bye Helle.
A Viking in the woodpile?... I doubt it...
Helle no
Good news in Denmark, the center-right parties have won with 92 seats out of 179. The ok looking for a commie PM is out of a job.
Interestingly, the main center-right party there (though they’ve now slipped to third place behind another more conservative party) is called Venstre, literally “left”. They were an old school liberal party that never went full tilt socialist.
The leader of Venstre is expected to be the next PM, not the leader of the more conservative Danish People’s Party.

Great news, the Scandinavians are finally standing up to Political Correctness.
