The world is embarking on its sixth mass extinction with animals disappearing about 100 times faster than they used to, scientists warned Friday, and humans could be among the first victims.

Not since the age of the dinosaurs ended 66 million years ago has the planet been losing species at this rapid a rate, said a study led by experts at Stanford University, Princeton University and the University of California, Berkeley.

The study "shows without any significant doubt that we are now entering the sixth great mass extinction event," said co-author Paul Ehrlich, a Stanford University professor of biology.

Hoax Alert! Hoax Alert! Hoax Alert!

Paul Ehrlich is a professional catastrophist who has been forecasting death and destruction since the seventies. See Population Bomb.

Invariably, humanity is to blame...

What worries me most is what’s happening in the oceans. More acidity, higher temperature and possible loss of the North Atlantic Oscillation which keeps our north and Europe warmer than they would otherwise be. Don’t ask me to explain it, Google NAO and NADW for details.

Research grants for studying faked crisis are much bigger than for just studying things as they are.

Paul Ehrlich is a perpetual “alarmist” who has been proven wrong more often than a habitual Vegas gambling loser. I think what we all need to worry MUCH MORE about is what Progressives, Socialists and other Leftists are up to in all of the nations of the West. They are trying to flood the West with Muslims and other illegal immigrants who will serve only to weaken our civilization.

The comment section on that article is full of crazy Brit Moonbats. It’s scary how many are talking about how guilty they feel and that we all deserve to die (especially the greedy Americans).

Evidently it has happened before, according to what some researchers have found by looking at the growth of stalactites and stagmites in a Scottish cave, and yes, it can mean a major shift in what people are accustomed to in Europe. I suppose to get a better idea of the impact of such changes a lot more caves need to be sampled.
