Well, it was the MB that elevated him to the position of defense minister. And even though a lot of Egyptians were happy to see Morsi go for economic reasons, they’re still aligned with the MB ideologically—after all, it was not all MB in Tahrir Square back in 2011 chanting “To Jerusalem we go, martyrs in the millions” or assaulting Lara Logan and other women during that time.

That’s true. I never understood that. But in any case it didn’t work out as planned for Mr. Morsi and the rest of the MB in Egypt.
