If series count, what about Band of Brothers? I also liked The Pacific and I think of From the Earth to the Moon as a patriotic flick.

My favorite is AMC's TURN: Washington's Spies, about the real-life Culper spy ring. The first season was good, but the second season was fantastic. And the actor portraying George Washington is inspired casting.
