Trump Is Right About Mexican Illegals Committing Crimes
Townhall.com ^ | July 4,015 | John Hawkins

"We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." – George Orwell

Despite all the gnashing of teeth from the Left over Donald Trump’s comments about illegal aliens and liberals’ deliberate attempts to distort what he said, his controversial comments about Mexico are absolutely correct.

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. …They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Despite attempts to take his comments out of context, Donald Trump was clearly talking about illegal immigration. So, if you want to say, “My grandfather came here legally from Mexico….” or “I know a legal Mexican immigrant who serves in the military,” it has nothing to do with what Trump said. Even when it comes to illegals, Trump noted that some of them are “good people.”

So what’s really upsetting people on the Left is Trump’s assertion that Mexican illegal aliens are committing a substantial amount of crime in America. That is inarguably true.

* “Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling Zadvydas v. Davis (2001), the U.S. has become a dumping ground for Third World rapists. Aliens convicted of violent crimes can’t be held for more than six months if their home country…doesn’t want to take them back. The ruling unleashed 134,000 aliens onto American streets in only three years.

Executive associate director of enforcement and removal operations at ICE Gary Mead told a House Congressional Subcommittee in 2011 that the released aliens went to commit a wave of crimes ‘including, but not limited to, arson, assault, property damage, extortion, forgery or fraud, homicide, kidnapping, weapons offenses, embezzlement, controlled substance offenses, and sexual offenses.’ Released illegals also shot a New York state trooper and a Ft. Meyer cop who had a wife and three children.”

* “However, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Robert Goodlatte today released data…(that) showed that deportations as well as arrests of criminal aliens dropped about 30 percent during the first six months of this fiscal year. Moreover, the 30,558 criminal aliens that ICE released back on the streets in 2014 garnered almost 80,000 convictions. These included 250 homicides, 186 kidnappings, 373 sexual assaults, 13,636 convictions for driving under the influence, 1,589 weapons offenses, 994 aggravated assaults, 56 arsons and 31 smuggling offenses.”

* “The 287(g) program and related efforts have found high rates of illegal alien incarceration in some communities. But it is unclear if the communities are representative of the country:

Maricopa County, Ariz.: 22 percent of felons are illegal aliens;

Lake County, Ill.: 19 percent of jail inmates are illegal aliens;

Collier County, Fla.: 20 to 22 percent of jail inmates and arrestees are illegal aliens;

Weld County, Colo.: 12.8 to 15.2 percent of those jailed are illegal aliens.”

* “From 1998 to 2007, 816,000 criminal aliens were removed from the United States because of a criminal charge or conviction. This is equal to about one-fifth of the nation’s total jail and prison population. These figures do not include those removed for the lesser offense of living or working in the country illegally. The removal and deportation of large numbers of criminal aliens may reduce immigrant incarceration rates because many will not return and re-offend, as is the case with many native-born criminals.”

* “The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons in fiscal year 2010 was about 55,000, and the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails was about 296,000 in fiscal year 2009 (the most recent data available), and the majority were from Mexico. The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons increased about 7 percent from about 51,000 in fiscal year 2005 while the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails increased about 35 percent from about 220,000 in fiscal year 2003. The time period covered by these data vary because they reflect updates since GAO last reported on these issues in 2005. Specifically, in 2005, GAO reported that the percentage of criminal aliens in federal prisons was about 27 percent of the total inmate population from 2001 through 2004.” – The U.S. Government Accountability Office

After seeing those staggering numbers, it’s worth remembering that none of these people are supposed to be in our country in the first place. So, every American who is robbed, raped, assaulted or murdered by an illegal alien is an unnecessary victim. No wonder liberals are so desperate to get Trump to stop talking about how many Americans are being hurt by their refusal to secure the border.

The GOP has been fretting for years about how to deal with 40 million new Rat voters. Wake up. They can’t vote if they are back home.

Maybe the recent San Francisco random shooting will shake them back to reality. 5th time he’d been deported??!!!

Americans are held to the fire for crimes worse than illegals (from traffic to the stated in the article) and that applies to wherever we are caught- America or a foreign land it seems....

Despite all the gnashing of teeth from the Left over Donald Trump’s comments about illegal aliens

Ain't just the Left. Plenty of so-called "conservative" candidates are in a state of vapors over The Donald's candor.

Meanwhile, Trump's poll numbers continue to rise.

Hell yes Trump is right. I'm not very fond of Trump for a couple of reasons, that stupid squeaky wheel loud mouth and nauseating ego....but, with that said, he’z right on the mark.

There are large swaths of Houston that are unrecognizable as America. Every night on the news, illegals committing crimes from rape, drugs, murder, carjackings, assaults, robberies...you name it.

Republicans and Democrats alike are complicit in the transformation of our country. I personally believe it is a step toward integration of the Americas. Sounds tinfoilly, but check out the New American Foundation and their donor page.

NAF is working to eliminate our American passport for a New American passport. This passport would be used in the Americas to travel unrestricted from Canada to South America.

Donors include the U.S. Dept. of State, George Soros and other family member foundations, google, MSoft and so forth.

Incredible that his comments are even controversial

Even more incredible that the riders in the Republican clown car (a/k/a the "candidates") are opposed to simple declarative statements of fact.

I mean, it would be OK to say, "I wouldn't have put it that way, but...", but to say that he was wrong, or that what is said wasn't 100% the truth, that's disgraceful.

Not bloody likely. The only thing that will jolt the left, Democrat and Republican back toward reality is, if one of these frequent flyers kills some important leftist. Then watch them become border hawks. For about an hour.

Just heard on the news that San Freako has no rights to detain the suspect due to him not being in the country legally.

I only hope this is false, though I would not be surprised, because liberals will never wake up to the border dangers.

Trumps comments really are not controversial but they endanger the Left’s plans for making themselves the permanent party in power.

"his(trump) controversial comments about Mexico are absolutely true"

There are many different types of crime, but as a generality, the Hispanic crime rate is higher than the white crime rate, but lower than the black crime rate. Crime stats on illegals have never been kept.

The crime rate also varies with age, and those 19-28 commit more crime than those 29-38, who commit more crime than those 39-48. Etc.

Men have a higher crime rate than women.

Crime rate also varies inversely with class or income. The lower the class or income, the higher the crime rate.

The author tries to equate conviction rate/incarceration rate with crime rate and there is no relation between the two. Convictions and incarceration are 99.9% dependent on class/income. How much money do you have to spend on your legal defense?

Crime is measured as per 1000 of population, so the author cherry picks several geographic locations with a high Hispanic population where one would expect the Hispanic crime rate to be high and tries to equate that to everywhere. But in places like Baxter County, AR the Hispanic crime rate(and black crime rate) is zero, because no Hispanics(or blacks) live there. The only people that commit crime there are white.

When crime rate amongst Hispanics is considered, one needs to differentiate between Hispanics who are here to work and those Hispanics who are here for the sole reason of committing crime.

I’ve never cared much for trump, but this is way larger than trump

this is about telling the truth and how if some foaming malcontent, crybaby grievance group, doesn’t like the truth you can’t tell it or they will bully you out of existence.

If the gop condemns trump then I will vote for him as a protest vote this election.
