I’m sitting here a little stunned, imagining what would have happened if the old totalitarian regimes of the last century had our ability to collect and aggregate data. The interesting part is that it’s almost as if we’re evolving towards totalitarianism, with a fair number of the population now invested in the methods of dictatorships, such as suppressing speech and dehumanizing neighbors who are in opposition. Baby step after baby step.
