The slime continues to drip

It makes me all the more anxious for Trump (and others like him) to sweep that place clear of the decades of filth from the same politicians who have sleazed up the place

I wonder if she looked into what dope-head Obama was up to at that same time

Frigging hypocritical media now wants to pretend they have some sympathy for McCain? McC will allow himself to be made the martyr of the day by the MSM, won’t he? Sure he will.

What were Michael E. Miller and Fred Barbash doing in the spring of 1968?

GOP-Once again making itself ridiculous...I wish they knew how ignorant they appear when they do this.

In the end ... if a candidate is NOT good enough, the VOTERS will be the judge... not OTHER candidates.

This is pretty pathetic. Actually, I remember the Trump of those days. He actually went out with several girls from my college in NYC. He was awkward and the women invariably dropped him. One didn’t think he was very bright. He mentioned this himself in his Vegas speech. And if Maxwell’s Plum and Dangerfield’s were wild clubs, I’ll eat my hat. Next, they’ll be bringing up the Peppermint Lounge!

I can’t believe they’re bringing up the tired old Viet Nam garbage. Why didn’t Obama fight in any of the many Middle Eastern wars we had? He was sitting around smoking weed and having Bill Ayers writing his books while he voted “present” in the state senate. And least The Donald worked for a living.

This is the same Washington Post that did not ask this of Bill Clinton.

This is the same Washington Post that was not interested in Obama’s past. They only screamed “conspiracy theorist” to any objective person that was skeptical.

This is the same Washington Post that defended Hillary Clinton over the Benghazi scandal.

So if you find yourself on the same side as the Washington Post, then you need to recheck your conservative credentials.

McKook likes to kick dirt on the other guy’s shoes. Its his M.O. I never believed his war hero story and am sure there is more to it. But, not interested.

Pretty lopsided article. Not a word about the accounts from other POW’s that were there claiming he caved and made over 30 videos dissing the US. Or the fact that the Vietnamese took it easy on him because his father was an admiral...

Not a word about helping push through legislation making it possible to hide info about prisoners left there. Not a word about McCain doing absolutely nothing to help vets in his years in Congress...

The accounts of Trump’s lifestyle may be accurate, but quite a lot has been left out about McCain...

I wish Trump had chosen better words. I think that John McCain as a POW actually did demonstrate heroism at times.

But there is a larger point, which Trump could have made better than he did, which is that we no longer value true heroism, and that we constantly call things heroic that are not.

Getting shot by a jihadi while you are unarmed is not heroic. Shoveling shit in Louisiana (to borrow a phrase, mods please allow it this once) is not heroic. Putting water balloons in your chest and dressing up as a woman is not heroic.

For some reason, between WW II and Vietnam we got all twisted up about the “hero” thing, and we still haven’t got it straight. If that’s what Trump was saying, it needed to be said.

He overstepped. This is the same crap that the Dems used about George Bush- that he only flew a jet (and not in Vietnam like Mc).

As a USN lifer, anyone who straps themselves into a military jet is a hero to me. On my Westpac deployments (destroyer and cruiser) we lost several pilots in supposed peacetime, much less over Vietnam.

I disagree with Mc on most everything and Trump has many good points, but, as noted, Trump lost it for me. There are better men and women than him running.

“When I graduated from college, I had a net worth of perhaps $200,000,” he said in his 1987 autobiography “Trump: The Art of the Deal,” written with Tony Schwartz. (That’s about $1.4 million in 2015 dollars.) “I had my eye on Manhattan.”

Since in 1971 he was given control of his father's $300M real estate company, worth about $1.8B in today's money, claiming he turned $200,000 into $4B (or $10B) by his own efforts is a tad disingenuous.

Sounds very much like the criticism that the media gave Bill Clinton. I am sure glad they write about both sides fair and balanced. (/sarc)

Just curious.

Does anybody know Trump’s position on: abortion, gun rights, eminent domain, taxes, health care, defense, race, militarization of law enforcement, gay marriage, religious freedom, freedom of speech and association, etc.?

Does anybody care?

“John McCain is a hero, a man of grit and guts and character personified,” Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement.

...said the former war protestor who threw away his questionable purple heart. Makes one wonder why the media and the Dems are so afraid of Trump.

I always associated July 29, 1967 with John McCain wet starting his A4 in the Forrestal as a lark and being evacuated off the carrier to avoid his shipmates from keelhauling him after he caused the fire.

I wonder what Trump was doing at the time?

Lol...you cannot leverage sympathy for McCain as a tool to harm anyone like Trump right now. “hobbits” McCain destroyed any credibility he gained from service years ago.
