In fact most small campus security forces do not have the power to arrest or write tickets. Nothing more than glorified security guards.

I was a Texan, in my youth. Corpus.

Nowadays, the "confrontation" would have just restarted after your insightful comments.

I'm forming ideas about how to resist the overarching wave of all law enforcement, all the time. Naturally, we have the fearful, who seem to embrace the ever-growing intrusions - like the intrusion and armed kidnapping being discussed here. Their chains will sit lightly.

I'm thinking that you have to have several recording devices, letting the jackboots know about at least one of them, if you're confronted.

I think pulling over when you see one, and getting out to fiddle with your cellphone ("I'm making a call") might be a bonny way to protest. Could you imagine lines of cars pulling over to the shoulder in waves, as a Blue or Brown revenooer passed?

I tire of feeling like a swimmer in deep water who suddenly sees a shark fin.

And make no mistake - they ARE predators.

My mother taught Texas history to middle schoolers, and I've been to many of the historical sites in Texas. I still have most of the books, and some of the pamphlets.
