The reports I heard said she *first ran a stop sign then she made a *left turn without a signal . If an officer sees you run a stop sign they will pull you over. Then it is in your best interest to be polite and do what he asks you to do. If he says get out of your car, you just do it. I heard her argue with the officer, that will get you into a jail cell.

99.9% of people with any sense know that. I am convinced that this woman took advantage of her suicidal tendencies to become a martyred victim for her misguided cause.
A Texas state trooper was giving a young woman a traffic warning on a college campus. After concluding that traffic stop, Bland must have caught his eye, because he executed a U-turn on the college main drag, and zoomed up on her tail.
When they came to a double lane area a half block further on, she got into the right lane, to get out of his way.He then popped his lights, because "she didn't signal a lane change". It was a chickenscheisse stop.
I've had police do similar things to me, and have seen them do similar things to other drivers.
The interesting thing to me is what he was doing in the jurisdiction of the campus cops. This town and college campus is Bugtussle class.
The cop “requested” that Bland put out her
cigarette. She declined his request. That
pissed off the cop so he ordered her out of
the car. Technically he may have had the
authority to order her to step out but in
court a mediocre attorney would have the cop
explain his vehicle exit demand and the judge
would kick the cop in the ass. Case dismissed.
As it was, the cop was assigned to desk jockey
duty because he violated department traffic stop
policy and courtesy protocol.
